Poem 2
Becoming unplugged
from the day to day
just releasing the hold
will we pass or fail
or maybe it’s not so
cut and dry anymore
Swallowed by the clouds
they’ve finally let me in
the harsh reality
stabs me in the back
but I can’t feel that anymore
my mind has moved on
The predictable edges nearer
crawling on its belly with
outstretched hands
greed gleaming in its eyes
saliva frothing from its mouth
sickened by the taste it
has left me with
My back is turned
as though I don’t care
the words already erased
from the voices that escaped
no tears are falling from my eyes
it enlightens me with courage
to figure whatever it is out
knowing it all will fall into place
